How it is done and Equipment used.

Most of the images on this website are taken using 2 cameras side by side, close up
images like the Flowers are taken with one camera using macro and the Hyper
stereo images like "Canary wharf and Police station" are also taken on one camera
at least 20 feet apart. View my 3d Setup and the camera i use for Macro(640x480).
To transfer the images from my cameras to the computer i use a 4 in one memory
card reader, I create a folder on my drive then two sub folders one called left the other
called right. Then the images from the left camera get put into the folder called left and
right camera images into the right folder. Once this all done which takes very little time,
i open Stereophotomaker and click on the icon "open left and right image", after steering the browser to the left image Stereophotomaker normally takes a good guess
where the right image is and is normally correct. When both images are loaded I normally click on the Interlace icon to do the lining up. (interlace is my personal
preference as you can see both images at once in this mode) After making both images the same height i set about lining up the horizontal. There are two ways of doing this,
one is to have the closer objects coming out of the screen at you which is not always
a good idea as this causes untold flicker in Page flipping mode and also Ghosting
in other modes like Anaglyph and interlace. To make your photo's do this line up the
distant objects so they appear as one and the closer objects appear apart. To just have depth in your photo line up the closer objects to appear as one, sometimes a compromise
between the two is required. After all lining up is complete i click on the "side by Side"
icon, Jps files have to be in Cross eye mode so pressing "x" will swap the images.
Now is the time to resize the image which i normally cut down to 1024x768 this will
be the full screen size of the image when viewed in Page flipping or Depthcharge.
Then i click on savea$ and choose "Jps file" ,if you leave it in interlace or anaglyph
mode you will end up with a rather odd looking picture which will not be 3d.
After saving i minimise Stereophotomaker to the Taskbar and check my results in
NVIDIA's page flipping Viewer. If all is well i then Restore Stereophotomaker and
swap the images back by pressing "x" and save it in interlace or anaglyph mode.
